Engagement Photos

Why take engagement photos?

First, it’s a great way to get more comfortable in front of the camera with your wedding photographer. You’ll get out all of the jitters, learn about how your photographer operates, and, on the flip side, your photographer will get a better idea of your comfort level and your best angles—resulting in better pictures on your wedding day. But the most popular reason to take engagement photos—save-the-dates. That’s why we love when couples show off their personalities with creatively-themed shoots. What better way to introduce your guests to the two of you as a couple?

Season’s Greetings

To add a sentimental touch, take your photo right after getting engaged. Or, if you’re having a longer engagement, consider shooting your save-the-date snapshot a year or two prior to the wedding during the season that you’re getting married.

Follow this foolproof formula: A few simple props + the great outdoors + baked goods (to bribe your most photo-savvy friend to take the shot) = simple, yet eye-catching save-the-date nights. Don’t forget to seal it with a kiss…

While your photographer is sure to have suggestions and guidance on posing, knowing a couple of pose ideas beforehand that you absolutely LOVE can really help you get just the picture you’re looking for.  Here are some of awesome posing ideas for couples…
